So, today we will be talking about cooking the perfect party jollof rice.
Here are three tips for perfect jollof rice:
Jollof rice should be seasoned with the right ingredients and it shouldn’t be too much. The rice should be seasoned appropriately with seasoning cubes, plenty of onions, bay leaf, curry, thyme and of course what gives it its unique colour tomatoes. A mixture of fresh and pureed tomatoes should be used. Make sure you blend ginger and garlic with the tomatoes and pepper and taste the food occasionally to make sure the taste is just right.
- Don’t put too much water
Jollof rice should be cooked with minimal water i.e add the water little by little as required. Towards the end of the cooking, foil paper should be used to cover the pot to allow steam to finish cooking the rice.
3.Leave open after its finished cooking
Always remember to leave the food open after cooking to prevent the heat from further cooking the food.
