We all know how hard it is to keep our makeup in great condition for a long period of time, we also know how painful it is when our favorite compact powder or eyeshadow drops on the floor and breaks. Almost feels like the world has ended right? Don’t be in a haste to throw it away though because it can be saved. You can easily repair your broken powder and have it back to normal without too much stress.
What you need:
- Broken Compact Powder
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Plastic wrap
- Gather all the powder into it’s original container and crush them, including the part that aren’t broken, till they’re smooth.
- Add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the compact and let it soak in for a few seconds. Smoosh it around with a spatula or spoon until you get an even consistency. There should be no clumps or chunks. Place a plastic wrap over the top of the makeup and rub with a spoon/spatula to smoothen out the makeup.
- Remove the plastic wrap and press down gently with a tissue. This will remove any excess alcohol. Be sure to use a tissue that will not break easily when wet so tissue particles won’t get into your compact.
- Once that is done, all you have to do is wait. Leave the compact open and let it dry, preferable overnight. Once the alcohol is dry, and the smell is gone, then you can start using your makeup again.
Viola, you have your makeup back without any/little extra cost.
Note: This method works for any powder makeup, like eyeshadow, blush, and so on.
