Designer Tehilah Abakasanga of the OFUURE brand presents the IGHÓ collection. The womenswear brand is a fashion line that uses ankara for it’s designs. Here’s what the designer had to say of this new collection;
“The IGHÓ collection was my winning AFWT (African fashion week Toronto) student design competition 2016 collection. IGHÓ means wealth in Edo, and this collection was named after my mum whose name is Omonigho.
It’s not your average ankara collection. I incorporated some of my favourite fabrics like tulle and fringe with different textures, hand sewn appliqués and some beadwork. Overall it was a very fun collection to work on.”
