Today we are going to tackle a problem mostly faced by women, Stretch Marks. We feel uncomfortable with our body when it affects us, but still most of us know little about what actually takes place when a stretch mark is formed.
Stretch Marks defined
Stretch marks are visible lines on the skin surface, with an off-color hue. Stretch marks are mainly found in the abdominal wall, but can also occur over the thighs, upper arms, buttocks and breasts.
Sometimes stretch marks can cover large areas of the body. While pregnancy is the main cause behind stretch marks, other reasons can be sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, heredity factors, stress and changes in physical conditions.
Thanks to biologist and local herbalist, there are natural remedies that can be used for stretch marks.
1. Aloe Vera:
Aloe Vera is known to be very efficient in treating skin diseases or problems. It has healing and soothing properties can be used to get rid of stretch marks.
You can apply it in the following ways:
A. By directly rubbing aloe Vera gel on the affected skin area, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
B. Another way is to make a mixture with one-fourth cup of aloe vera gel, oil from 10 vitamin E capsules and oil from five vitamin A capsules. Rub this mixture onto the skin until fully absorbed. Do this daily and we assure you, your stretch marks gone.
2. Olive Oil:
Olive oil is an ingredient that most of us have in the kitchen but rarely consider its uses outside of the domain of food preparation. Olive oil contains a lot of nutrients and antioxidants that help improve various skin problems including stretch marks.
How to use it:
Massage slightly warm extra-virgin olive oil into the affected skin area. This will improve the blood circulation and reduce the stretch marks to a great extent.
3. Castor Oil
Castor oil acts as a natural remedy for acne, stretch marks, sun burn, and dry skin. It also helps evade infections like warts, boils, athlete’s foot and chronic itching
4 Sugar: (Are you still surprised)
Not known to you, but this is considered one of the best natural remedies to get rid of stretch marks.
For this natural remedy, you need 1 spoonful of sugar, 1 teaspoon of olive oil or castor oil, lemon juice and half a capsule of vitamin E. Mix all ingredients until you get a smooth paste, then apply it an area affected by stretch marks using circular movements.
Rub gently until the substance is absorbed. For an effective treatment, it’s advisable using a massage brush to increase blood circulation.
Try this treatment 2-3 minutes daily for several weeks and you’ll see how stretch marks will fade.
